Summary

From Kelly Siskind comes a slow-burn romantic comedy about one man’s creative attempt to win back his high school sweetheart after a change in fortune gives them a second chance at love。

Growing up, I had it all—my art, close friends, a gorgeous girlfriend who owned my heart—but then my life exploded。

Turns out my father was laundering money, and my whole family got shoved into witness protection。 No notice。 No chance to explain。 I was ripped away from beautiful, blue-eyed Delilah Moon, shattering both our worlds。

A decade later, fate has given us a second chance。

The cartel my father worked for has been wiped out。 I’ve returned to my hometown, determined to win back the love of my life。 But Delilah is engaged。

Or 。 。 。 is she?

I’m almost positive she’s lying about her fiancé to protect her heart。 Which means I need to up my game。

I’ve made a list of fifty ways to prove we’re meant to be。 Except Delilah’s barely looking at me, never mind swooning。 I have a feeling my disappearance scarred her more than she’s admitting, and no one in town will tell me what happened 。 。 。

This book starts off as a kind of RomCom, light and a bit sappy。 But it definitely doesn’t stay that way and becomes emotional and intense! Usually, I don’t read a book written with only male character’s POV, but synopsis sounded interesting so I tried and it was fantastic!Writing was so smooth, funny and even poetic。 Characters, charming。 Plot, exciting。Heart wrenching and heart warming。I’ll be waiting for third one。Yes, third one。Second one and third one。 And on and on。

One word BeautifulI'm devastated this beautiful book is over。 I am truly in love with all of it。 I wish I could give it more than 5 stars。 Everything about it was well planned and executed。 The pain, joy, tears, laughter, devastation, elation。 Their opposite emotions sitting side by side learning how to find joy and love in a life that has thrown anything but at you。 I have felt so much through this book and feel like I have learnt about grief and suffering。 I don't know how else to put into wor One word BeautifulI'm devastated this beautiful book is over。 I am truly in love with all of it。 I wish I could give it more than 5 stars。 Everything about it was well planned and executed。 The pain, joy, tears, laughter, devastation, elation。 Their opposite emotions sitting side by side learning how to find joy and love in a life that has thrown anything but at you。 I have felt so much through this book and feel like I have learnt about grief and suffering。 I don't know how else to put into words how amazed at the depth this story went。 I cannot rate it more if I tried, I would want everyone to read it。 The pure emotion of the characters bled from the pages and you could feel what they felt。 A true master piece that I hope Kelly is proud of。 I didn't know what I was expecting when I went into reading this book but I am forever greatful to have read it。 I have read a lot of romance novels over the last two years and I think this one has moved itself to number 1 position。 I cannot wait for the next installment。 Just getting to be with these characters more is something to be excited about! 10/10 must read!!! 。。。more

It was fine。 Nothing amazing but it wasn't bad either, a good quick read。 The title is a little odd since he never actually goes through a big list, it is more of a thing that gets mentioned here and there when it's convenient。 Some have mentioned the pacing is off at times too, I think it's from the author trying to both establish the series with all the brothers, explain the backstory, and move the story line for this particular book。 I am curious if it would have worked better if she wrote sn It was fine。 Nothing amazing but it wasn't bad either, a good quick read。 The title is a little odd since he never actually goes through a big list, it is more of a thing that gets mentioned here and there when it's convenient。 Some have mentioned the pacing is off at times too, I think it's from the author trying to both establish the series with all the brothers, explain the backstory, and move the story line for this particular book。 I am curious if it would have worked better if she wrote snippets in the beginning going through their story instead of random parts where E explains things to the reader or to people around him。 For example - first few pages could have been "10 years ago" and gone over his relationship with Delilah and then being thrown into a van for WITSEC。 。。。more

Well, this read had me pulled in and took my emotions for a ride! There are some big, intense moments that some I found myself fighting tears。 This second chance between E and Delilah had me rooting for them, even with the time they'd missed, things out of their control and so curious about the rest of E's family。 I like this view of those in witness protection, not able to control the situation and what that can do to a person and those in their lives。 I will be looking for more from this serie Well, this read had me pulled in and took my emotions for a ride! Edgar and DelilahThis is my first book from this author。 First, what a delightful change of POV! Second, this was such a wonderful and intense story full of love and compassion。 I am quite excited to learn of Desmond’s story which I am sure it will be filled with endless pain。 I hope that the other brothers will get a story but so far I love these brothers!

This was a somewhat heavier second chance romance told refreshingly from the POV of the male lead, Edgar。 Highschool sweethearts, Edgar Bower and Delilah Moon were inseparable, that is until Edgar's money-laundering father caused the whole family to be torn away and put into the Witness Protection program for their own safety。 Edgar never got a chance to say goodbye or explain his disappearance and has yearned to reconnect with Delilah ever since。Ten years later his father is no longer an issue This was a somewhat heavier second chance romance told refreshingly from the POV of the male lead, Edgar。 Highschool sweethearts, Edgar Bower and Delilah Moon were inseparable, that is until Edgar's money-laundering father caused the whole family to be torn away and put into the Witness Protection program for their own safety。 Edgar never got a chance to say goodbye or explain his disappearance and has yearned to reconnect with Delilah ever since。Ten years later his father is no longer an issue and Edgar is free to return to his hometown only to find that Delilah is now engaged and has no interest in hearing his explanations。 I loved how hard Edgar works to win Delilah over and their undeniable chemistry。 Told through flashbacks to their past we get to see how they first fell in love and the ways their deep connections still exist。Great on audio narrated by John Lane, I'm excited to see what's next in this series that feature Edgar's other brothers。 Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review。 This was my first book by Canadian romance author Kelly Siskind and definitely won't be my last! 。。。more

What's the saying: a beta on the streets, an alfa in the sheets? Best description for Kelly's new heroe E。 This one hits on so many tropes: childhood friends to lovers, separated by trauma, second chance romance, secret deep emotional trauma, and grovelling and working for it! I REALLY ENJOYED this book!! Loved reading about a caring, wonderful man wooing his first love。 E is so wonderful! His unending love for Delilah was swoonworthy! This is another one of those books where one person point of view adds to the story。 We know what E knows and that is perfect for this story。 LOVE that there are 5 Bower boys and look forward to learning about more of them!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Publishing for the ARC。 I am voluntarily reviewing this book。 For me, this was so far fetched-just really out there, that I was just shaking my head and thinking REALLY?? This is not to say that the book wasn't fun-it was silly and I felt like Brian was stuck in high school。 It wasn't horrible to read just a bit over the top for me。 3 stars That being said, I would still read this author。 I think that many will love this book。 Enjoy A big thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Publishing for the ARC。 I am voluntarily reviewing this book。 For me, this was so far fetched-just really out there, that I was just shaking my head and thinking REALLY?? This book is now one of my most favorite books of 2022。 E and his family definitely deserved their second chance after everything that had happened to them。 I’m glad he and Delilah found their way back to each other but I am anxiously waiting for Sadie and Desmond’s story。 That one will probably rip my heart out more than this one did。

What a touching and unique story。 So exciting to find authors who can come up with original plots in the romance genre。 Can’t wait for Desmond which is the next book in the series Loved “Brian’s “ story
